Tuli Monastery
Tuli Monastery is located in Qing Hai, Qi Nan province. It was built by Lama Tenzin Norbu (emanation of Vajra Pani) in 1916.  For the succession of Tuli monastery, he had chanted 600 million Chenrezig mantra; and some auspicious prayers to bless the monastery. In 1927, Lama Tenzin Norbu attained nirvana and became Shambala Pure Land, the 21st Wu Mia Holiness. Up to now, the sanghas and disciples are still receiving blessings from Wu Mia Holiness incessantly.
Lama Tenzin Norbu Rinchen Tulku
There have been many prophecy from various great masters with regard to the cause of
Tuli Monastery. In April 15, 1935, the former Regent of Tibet, Rinchen Tulku, after consuming the yogurt from a porcelain bowl, turned it inside out and made a prophecy: “Tibetan Buddhism Culture and Holy Land, Tuli Monastery with 5500 monks, will bear the same honor as the other 3 great monasteries in Lhasa. Rinchen Tulku then left his Dharma Hat and Yamantaka Robe in Tuli Monastery as evidence of his prophecies.

Located in the center of the Dakanis’ Mandala with 3500 acres of land, the monastery has many legends about the manifestation of dakinis and various enlightened masters. As such, Dakini Tsog Offering on 10th and 25th lunar day each month are important ceremonies in the monastery . Many monks and disciples displayed signs of being reborn in the Pure Land of Dakinis and Amitabha after this life.

在寺院周围一带有很多神奇的事迹,藏地格萨尔王也到过这里,在离寺院不到三公里之处的拉甘黄河河谷留下了许多格萨尔王的圣迹和坐骑的蹄印。根据《大唐西域记》的记载,陀乐寺也是唐玄奘西行取经经过之地。关于神奇事迹,在农牧藏民之中还流传着其他许多说法
海螺山形象 征着寺院名兴气盛,名满天下。

4 Big Elephants Shaped Mountains

The monastery is enclosed by mountains of atypical shapes: The 4 big elephants shaped mountains, which implies herein the holy land, Tuli, will effect the flourishing of Mahayana Buddhism globally.

Besides these, there are 4 Auspicious Signs  Shaped Mountains which implies that in Tuli, all merituous deeds are fulfilling and complete. There are also 8 Auspicious Signs Shaped Mountainds which implies all tasks in Tuli will be wish fulfilling and auspicious.
Jade Dragon
On the 2 sides of the monastery, the landscapes are wavy like the lotus petal and the monastery is located in the middle like a lotus pedestal.  Infront of Tuli, is the Mon La river which is like a Jade Dragon. It implies that in Tuli, the dharma wheel is turning incessantly.
There are many holy objects in Tuli Monastery.

There are many legends around Tuli Monastery. Tthe Tibetan hero King Gesar had been to Tuli. About 3 kilometers away from Tuli is the valley of the Yellow River and there are still many mysterious traces left by King Gesar; one of which is the footprint of his horse. There are still many other mysterious legends spreading among the villagers.

Since 1994, Guru Ngawang Gyatral becomes the abbot of the monastery, he is dedicated in  teachings of the 5 treatises on stages, the 3 paths of Bodhi ( beginner, intermediate and advance) and 4 tantras etc.  Under Guru’s intensive guidance, now Tuli has a batch of ten over Geshe (Buddhist PHD), there are over 20 masters on Dharma teaching.  Due to the dedication and effort of the Guru and the sanghas hard learning, the monastery has many outstanding and talented monks.

Since 2002, Tuli monastery and 2 other major monasteries participate in a grand debating ceremony in Qin Hai’s province. Every year Tuli Monastery was the champion and has won many praises and honor from all directions. Especially in August 11th 2006, Tuli Monastery again was the champion among 1000 competitors. The other 2 major monasteries have declared that Tuli is their role model. In September 18th 2006, the Provincial Religion Council and announced that Tuli is the Outstanding Monastery¨ and is the role model for Qin Hai’s 180 monasteries.

Now all the monks are listening, reflecting and practicing Dharma.  Teaching, debating and writing Dharma articles are really flourishing. Many of the poems and articles are posted in various renowned Dharma magazines.
