| Guru Ngawang Gyaltral |

uru Ngawang Gyaltral was born on January 15 1969 (Tibetan calendar) in Qing Hai, Hai Nan province. Born in the eminent Tibetan Royal family named, Langpo, many of Guru’s ancestors were enlightened monks and masters. The Langpo sovereign’s tradition was highly regarded, and was well documented and preserved till now.Pagmo Drolma, Guru’s mother, is virtuous and compassionate. Unceasingly, she chants the Chenrezig mantra daily.
 He received the novice monk precept from Guru Lama Yongtsen when he was eighteen, named Ngawang Gyaltral which means king of ocean speech. Afterwards, he went to Tarer Monastery (the major temple of Gelugpa in Qing Hai) and learned from the 4 great Regent (Guru Lobsang Dorje, Gecha Tulku who is the emanation of Chenrezig, Guru Yeshe Gyaltral and Guru Dujom Churchong).
Guru was an outstanding student with extraordinary wisdom; endowed with exceptional perseverance and diligence in the pursuance of his studies, he was able to complete his studies in advance with spectacular results. He lived under poor condition, ate only bread and cold water and slept only 3 hours a day in order to have more time to study. He is skilful in the 5 Treatises On Stages, Different Lineage Commentary, The 3 Paths Of Bodhi (8 Noble Guides), 5 Treasures (Generation stage and Completion Stage), 4 Tantras and 10 Principal Pratices. When he was a student, many of his outstanding classmates became his disciples. |
His birth was accompanied by extraordinary signs, and fell on the auspicious day whereby Shakyamuni Buddha suppressed the 6 non Buddhist priests. Before and after his birth, his parents have had various mystical encounters, and had extremely auspicious dreams on many occasions. Guru’s family once had Prajnaparamita Diamond Sutra, Heart Sutra, Grand Prajnaparamita Sutra and 100000 Stanzas of Prajnaparamita written by Sheribu (Buddha’s top ten disciples) which were passed down by the former ancestors. Many of them attained enlightenment from reading them.
Guru Ngawang Gyaltral is endowed by nature with unusual intelligence. He is respectful to the elderly and loving to the young. He was out of the ordinary in his childhood. His passion for Buddhism was immense; at the age of 7, he chanted Prajnaparamita Diamond Sutra, Lion Face Dakini Mantra, Amitabha and 21 Tara Praises daily. He was well regarded by the villagers when he was a child and many of his deeds became the villagers’ favourite folk tales.

| Guru Ngawang Gyaltral has 7 Vajra Gurus and was very respectful to them. He fully received all the secret lineages, over 200 kinds of empowerments, over 300 kinds of permission initiations, over 280 Guidelines, over 500 kinds of sutra lineages and over 80 kinds of oral transmission. He was under The Holiness Lama Yongtsen intensive guidenace for over 20 years and has received the full transmission from him: The 46th throne holder of the lineage. Before the nirvana of Guru Lama Yongtsen, his has had a will to Guru Ngawang Gyaltral: “All your jobs are to turn the Dharma Wheel and to benefit all sentient beings.¨。 |

All of them are simple to understand though it encompassed deep profound meaning. They are held in great honor and became the recommended texts for studies in monasteries in Tibet, India, Nepal etc. Holiness Lama Yongtsen was specially fond of them and had helped to publish them personally. He had even put these teachings on top of his head and told other students: It is sufficient just to learn from Guru Ngawang Gyaltral’s teachings. All these teachings are now widely used as teaching in monasteries in Tibetan, India and Nepal.

Since 2002, Tuli monastery and 2 other major monasteries participate in a grand debating ceremony in Qin Hai’s province. Every year Tuli Monastery was the champion and has won many praises and honor from all directions. Especially in August 11th 2006, Tuli Monastery again was the champion among 1000 competitors. The other 2 major monasteries have declared that Tuli is their role model. In September 18th 2006, the Provincial Religion Council and announced that Tuli is the Outstanding Monastery¨ and is the role model for Qin Hai’s 180 monasteries. |

Guru Ngawang Gyaltral always present Dharma Talks, Oral Transmissions, Giving Vows and Initiations. Many lay persons practiced under the Guru’s guidance achieved siddhi, some left with holy relics after cremation and showed signs of being reborn in Buddhas’ purelands
During the past 10 years, Guru insisted on 3 months retreat during winter. Guru is very compassionate, humorous, easy to work with, communicating with Guru makes will make increase your faith towards Buddhism. In the past few years, there are followers visiting the monastery. After hearing the Dharma and transmissions from Guru, they have cleared up their superstitious and attachment and have clear scientific view and understanding on Buddhism. Thus they were joyful and grateful to Guru Ngawang Gyaltral . |

Dharma draws on wisdom and compassion to purify one’s mind which enable people to fall back on the right view to transform their minds and environment in a rational way. To be able to meet , listen and be close to Guru, one must have accumulated vast merits from many past lives.
Guru is very knowledgeable, keeping pure vows, compassionate and is really a treasure for both Sutrayana and Vajrayana Buddhism. Now from all the predictions of all the past Regent and masters , Tuli Monastery will be a human pureland. Guru is working day to day with his utmost effort to benefit all sentient beings with Sutrayana and Vajrayana Buddhism.
